The Biggest Red Herring of All Time?

The Democrats continued push for testimony from Trump's former National Security Adviser John Bolton is a red herring. By now you should have heard about the claim by Bolton in his book manuscript that was leaked to the press that Trump told him the aid to Ukraine was linked to investigations into the Bidens and other Democrats. Democrats and the media are having a field day with this latest development. Here's the problem with this new information. First, it's from a leak by someone in the NSC. I find that to be disturbing. Secondly, just as I explained in my posts on Monday (1/27/20) and Sunday (1/19/20), the articles of impeachment are constitutionally infirm and new witness testimony will not give them credibility. The facts are the facts and they will never change regardless of any new testimony. The facts are that Ukraine got the aid within the time frame designated by Congress. Ukraine did not conduct any investigations into the Bidens or any other Democrats. President Zelensky of Ukraine and other officials from Ukraine said that they did not feel pressure. The transcript of the infamous phone call between Trump and Zelensky that set this impeachment spectacle into motion does not establish a quid pro quo, does not establish that Trump asked Zelensky to fabricate any claims against the Bidens. What the transcript does establish is that Trump did not ask for a personal favor. He asked Zelensky if he could do "us" a favor and that "people want to know" about the Ukranian prosecutor that Joe Biden had fired when he was Vice President. Even if what Bolton said is true, it does not change the facts and make Trump's conduct impeachable. The fact that Democrats, the media, and many Americans are all in support of this misguided attempt to have Bolton testify is quite shocking and steeped in Trump derangement. Since the impeachment is a clearly partisan endeavor I make this appeal to the Republican Senators that will vote on whether or not to hear from new witnesses. Have the courage to vote against this senseless move by Democrats that is only intended to distract from the real facts as stated above.
We would all be wise to keep in mind that Democrats have no credibility when it come to using witness testimony relating to Trump directly and indirectly. They rejected or ignored Ambassador Sonland's testimony that Trump said that there was no quid pro quo and that Trump did not tell him directly that the aid in question was tied to an investigation of the Bidens. They completely ignored the fact that other than this latest development with John Bolton, not a single witness has testified that they have first hand knowledge that Trump froze the aid to Ukraine in order to pressure Ukraine to investigate the Bidens. But perhaps the most significant fact is that Democrats, the media, any many Americans continue to cling to this notion that Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate the Bidens when officials from Ukraine said they did not feel any pressure, and they did not conduct any investigations. They are in essence calling President Zelensky and his officials liars. Absolutely stunning! The history of Democrats and their rabid followers using uncorroborated testimony from witnesses in order to further their anti-Trump agenda did not start with this impeachment agenda. Remember "I believer her" during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings. Democrats embarrassed and humiliated Judge Kavanaugh based on the accusation of Dr. Ford that Judge Kavanaugh sexually abused her several decades ago, even though Dr. Ford's best friend could not corroborate her claims.
The lesson that should be learned from this impeachment and other attempts by Democrats and the media to bring down Trump is that they will say anything and do anything to accomplish this goal. I say that as a neutral observer that has disdain for Republicans and Democrats; and I try to form my opinions devoid of hate and emotions. This underhanded push to have John Bolton testify is nothing more than a dilatory tactic meant to keep this impeachment in the public eye for as long as possible.
